Simply Stampin Challenge 38

Hi Everyone
The Simply Stampin Challenge is to use these colours in a piece of artwork.

I have three of these colours but unfortunately I don't have Wild Wasabi yet so I have had to use Old Olive instead and have made a card similar to one that I made at card a stack with Jo  a few months ago.

This uses the lovely Season of Joy stamp which I have used a lot both last year and this year. The tree has been glittered with Dazzling diamonds and the Chocolate Chip piece at the bottom has been paper pierced. I quite like the effect that paper piercing has on a piece of card.

I am entering this card for two challenges today: the first is the Less is More which is a one layer card "Let it Snow" and the second is the St Lukes Charity Card Challenge which is also called "Let it Snow".St Lukes is a hospice for young people based in Sheffield . They run monthly challenges  and ask that the cards be sent to them and then they have regular events at which the cards are sold.
The card is actually light blue which is difficult to see from this card. The bottom of the card has been scored twice, and then stamped at the bottom with Marina Mist and Whisper White. The card is stamped with Serene Snowflakes in three colours: Marina Mist, Whisper White and Pacific Point. Finally Dazzling Diamonds are added to the snowflakes. Here is a close up of the card so that you can see the glitter.

Simply Stampin Challenge #37

This weeks challenge from the ladies at Simply Stampin is from a sketch.
I used the beautiful stamp Simply Soft and used my new Aqua Painters to make the flowers look very soft. The colours used were Marina Mist and Chocolate Chip . Papers from Beau Chateau were distressed with Chocolate Chip were added as well as a piece of ribbon in Chocolate Chip. The card was finished off with paper piercing in the corners.

Rudolph Favour boxes

Good Morning ladies
As promised yesterday I spent several hours crafting yesterday and produced 9 table treats for my daughters Christmas table. They hold a small box of After Eights mints . The design was by Jo and they are really easy to produce.
So here is one reindeer
Here are several reindeers
I have just noticed that one of his antlers has slipped . I will have to stick that back on.
Here is what the back of the box looks like.

I  hope that they go down well with all of the guests.
As well as these I will be taking my well tried out Black Forest trifle which I have made for the last few years and my daughter has requested it.

Come take a look.
The recipe can be found at this site and it is lovely. I can recommend it.

Simply Stampin Challenge

Good news. The lovely ladies at Simply Stampin Challenge have placed my snowflake sparkle card into the top 3 entries. This has really motivated me to take part in more challenges.I am spending the whole day crafting today. I am going to make some reindeer table gifts for my daughter as we are going there for Christmas. I will show you them tomorrow.

I am entering this card in the Make my Monday challenge week 27 which this week is to design seasonal card with glitter. The snowflakes do have some dazzling diamonds on them but it is quite difficult to see. I am also going to enter it  in the Simply Stampin' Challenge #36 which is a Snowflake sparkle.

and here is a close up of the snowflakes

Make My Monday challenge week 26

This week's challenge from the ladies at the Make my Monday Challenge is to make a decorated box in a Christmas style.
I have made this box which was inspired from a tutorial onYou Tube at Please excuse the quality of the photo, it is quite difficult this time of year to get any natural light. These would look good on your Christmas table . Itwould look even better if there were some chocolates inside.

Simply Stampin challenge week 34

The Simply Stampin Challenge this week is from a sketch.
I decided to make a Christmas card and this is my entry for this week.
Card stock used is Real Red and Old Olive and Very Vanilla
Stampsets used: Season of Joy for the tree - I  used this stamp for most of Christmas cards last year and several this year. I also used a small swirl stamp from Delightful Decorations which is  great for all cards and which can get overlooked. The tree was stamped in Old Olive and the swirl in Real Red.  The tree was stamped and matted with Old Olive . The Designer Paper was from the Christmas range. A bell was attached with gold elastic and finally glitter was added to the tree.

Make my Monday part 2

As promised yesterday here is my second entry for the Make my Monday challenge which this week is a CAS Christmas Card with emphasis on the sentiment. This card uses the Delightful Decorations stampset and Season of Joy stamp for the sentiment. It also uses the Ornament punch . Card stock is Very Vanilla, Old Olive and Real Red. The paper is from last year's Christmas papers which are now retired. Finished off with Grosgrain ribbon in Early Espresso.

Make my Monday

The Make my Monday challenge for Week 24 is a CAS Christmas Card with emphasis on the sentiment. I am going to submit two cards, one which I did ages ago ( before I joined Stampin Up) which has a lovely snowflake design(see below)   and one which I did few weeks ago which uses Stampin up products(which I will put on my next blog post.)

Come back tomorrow to see my other entry

Lovely as a tree part 2

Sorry didn't realise that I could only submit one at a time so here is the second version that I produced.

Lovely as a tree

Both the Less is More Challenge and the Simply Stampin Challenge have asked for cards using leaves as  inspiration this week.
The Lovely as a Tree stamp set is a beautiful  set which I recently purchased but have not used yet so this was a good chance to use it. The first one inspired me so much that I made a second one. The layout for both is similar. They both have double score lines above and below the image. The first one uses the oak leaves and the acorn which was stamped in Chocolate Chip and then  blended using the blender pen with a little Pumpkin Pie. The second card uses the group of trees and then underneath the score lines I have stamped the small leaf in Chocolate Chip,Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive.

St Lukes Charity Card Challenge

This is a monthly cardmaking challenge supporting a Sheffield hospice through the donation of handmade cards to sell. This months challenge is to make a Christmas Card which they will then sell with proceeds going to the hospice . I have produced this card  which I will be posting off within the next few days.

New House

I apologise for not blogging for a while. I had tried to host my blog on my own domain, but I seemed to have trouble with it and I haven't had time to sort it out. So I have reverted back to letting the blogger host it.

My daughter and her fiance have just moved into a new home in East Leake , Nottingham and we went up to help with some of the packing . I made this card to welcome them to their new home. I used one of the stamps from the Easy Events set which is new to this years catalogue. It is a very versatile set with lots of uses.
Card used: Certainly Celery,  Old Olive and Very Vanilla. Embossing folder :Perfect Polka Dots
Punches: 4.4cm Circle and Decorative Label

I stamped the design in Basic Black and then coloured parts  the design with watercolour pencils and used the blender pen to blend the colours

Stampin up

I have just joined Stampin up and I can't wait to recive my starter kit and get going. Over the next few weeks I will be adding new pages and updating the blog to give it a fresh. I have also forwarded my blog URL to my own URL which I have owned for years. I have set up the forwarding up not sure if it has worked properly  so will also have to test it to make sure everything is OK

Simply Stampin Challenge #25

I thought that I would submit  a card for the Simply Stampin Challenge. This is a weekly challenge using at least one of the stamps from Stampin' up. I have made a start on my Christmas Cards so thought I would use the sketch and make another card.

Going to a workshop tonight

I am going to Wimborne for a workshop tonight so hoping to get some ideas for some cards that I might try out next week. I made this card a few weeks ago but tend to forget to take the photos and put them on the blog. This one has no stamping but uses punches, paper piercing and more ribbon.

Making a start on the Christmas cards

As the weather is so lousy today I thought that I would make an early start on my Christmas cards. I have been making all my own cards for the last 3 years and I always get comments on how relatives and friends enjoy seeing them which makes it worthwhile.

I haven't decided on a design for them all so making a few samples to see what the family think.
This is what I have come up with so far. Both of them use the "Season of Joy" set of stamps from Stampin  Up. Please let me know what you think.

More ribbon

Yesterday I said that I would post another card that used ribbon and had a shoe on it. I am sorry the photograph is a bit blurred but hopefully you can see it. This shoe stamp was the first stamp I ever bought about 5 years ago and I still love using it. It has a very stylish feel to it and is perfect for female friends. I have used a white organza ribbon which goes with any colours and is very feminine.

I love ribbon

I love working with all embellishments, but particularly ribbon. I have got a couple of weeks off work (hurrah) and the weather is brilliant. I have had an enjoyable day, first having a golf lesson and then going out for a long bike ride. I am determined to lose half a stone before we go away in 4 weeks, so no more cake and as much exercise as possible.
I have made quite a few cards recently but didn't get round to photographing them until today so will be posting them over the next few days. The first  has a butterfly stamped on it which I got free from The Stamper magazine . I decided to stamp it onto a diamond shape  rather than a square one. I layered that onto a pink piece that had been embossed with my Big Shot ( love my Big Shot) . A piece of mauve ribbon was tied onto the pink card and then it was all layered onto a piece of pink patterned paper
Off to the dentist tomorrow , think I might cycle there if it is not raining. It should take about 25 minutes to get there(I tested…

St Lukes Hospice Card Challenge

I saw a link to this challenge on Vickys site and thought that it was such a worthy cause that I would submit  a card to my first challenge.

The challenge this month is to make a card using a flying theme.  I thought about either using  butterflies or the lovely Plane and simple stamp which I keep using as my husband is learning to fly ! I decided to use the Nature Walk which is another stamp that I keep using. I love the gorgeous bird and I am currently into making cards that are partly brown:

Masculine cards

Designing cards for the men in our life can sometimes be quite difficult. I have just made a fathers day card for my daughter to give to my husband. I used a basic design which I used on my previous post but used the stamps 'Plane and simple' . I also used the linen thread around the width of the card.

Going to a party

We are going to a 60th birthday party so I have made this card for Paul. I have used the beautiful Botanical Gazette papers , the Nature Walk stamps and the Broadsheet Alphabet stamps which are really useful. All from Stampin up. Paul keeps bees so hope that he will like it.

Looking forward to seeing some friends that I have not seen for ages.
