Mojo Monday #230

Hi Ladies
Today I am entering the Mojo Monday Challenge which has a sketch this week:
I decided to do the square sketch and use my current favourite stamp set Fresh Vintage which is part of the Sale-a -bration which is running until the end of March.

Materials used;
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Pool Party, Calypso Coral
DSP: Everyday Enchantment
Punch: Lace Ribbon Border Punch

Simply Stampin Challenge

This week's challenge from Simply Stampin is to use lace . I decided to use a scrapbook page that I demonstrated a few weeks ago at the first event that I ran with Aly on Valley Park.

I used the lace border punch to which I tied two different colours of ribbon through the small holes. It looked quite effective and definently feminine.
Materials used:
Cardstock: Marina Mist, Bashful Blue and Whisper White
DSP: Beau Chateau
Stampset: Serene Snowflakes which were stamped with versamark and then embossed with white embossing powder.
Ribbon: Grosgrain in Whisper White and Bashful Blue

We are holding our second Stampin up event on Saturday 10th March. There will be demonstrations on card making, srapbooking and a 3D project. All the materials are supplied to enable you to do the projects. A buffet lunch is supplied and beverages for the day. The event takes place at Valley Park Community Centre and we currently have 2 places left.  The cost is £20 , so if you would like to join us please email me on margaret@margaretjones.net

Less is More week 55

Hi Ladies
The challenge this week over at Less is More is to use Dies or Punches. I decided that this week I would keep it very simple and used two dies , the Swirls Scribbles and the Fun Flowers die. I also kept colours to a minimum and used just white and yellow so that it would have a feeling of Spring.

Simply stampin Challenge 47

Hi Ladies
This week the challenge at Simply Stampin is a colour combo. We have to use the colours below in our designs:

So have entered this design:
I have a Pretty in Pink stamp pad but I have searched and searched for it but can't find it so I have had to use the Pink Pirouette stamp pad for the frame which is annoying because it would look better in the darker pink. There is a small amount of paper piercing in two of the corners which you can just about see in this photo.
Materials used:
Cardstock: Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink.
Designer Series Paper:Cheerful Treat.
Ribbon: Wisteria Wonder ruffled ribbon.
Stampset: Everything Eleanor
Tools: Scalloped punch and piercing tool
Stamp pads: Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo

Hope you like it , if so please pop back tomorrow when I will post some news about our next event to be held on Valley Park in Chandlers Ford.

Less is More Challenge

Hi Ladies
The challenge from the Less is more team is to use stripes on a card. I found this one really difficult and did not know what to do. I used one of my favourite stamps " Lovely as a tree" against a blue sky and green stripes for grass. The sky was slightly damp when I applied the trees and they really seem to pop off the page.

Simply Stampin Challenge 46

Hi Ladies
The challenge from Simply Stampin this week is from a sketch:

I wasn't too sure about this sketch at first but as soon as I got going I kept adding elements to my design and produced this:

This is quite different from the kind of thing that I usually do - it is much busier with more elements to it . I added the tags at the last moment and I think that they really make a difference. I have had them for a while but not used them very much.

Materials used
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz, Very Vanilla
DSP : Everyday Enchantment
Stamppads: Island Indigo, Licky Limeade
Ribbons: Lucky Limeade , Thin linen thread
Stampsets: Everything Eleanor, Array of Sunshine, Posy Punch
Tools: Scalloped punch, tag dies and brad

I really want to do more challenges because it does make you think and brings me out of my comfort zone which is good . It's just finding time which there isn't a lot of at the moment.

Simply Stampin Challenge 45 - Heartfelt

Hi ladies
I am submitting something different for this week's Challenge over at the Simply Stampin Challenge. I am not sure whether it follows their rules as it doesn't use a Stampin up die or stamp but what it does use is the lovely fabrics that Stampin up introduced in the last catalogue.
I have used the three Flirtatious fabrics to make three hearts which I then filled with dried lavender and I used the ruffled ribbon in Wisteria Wonder to make some loops and sewed then at the top of the hearts so that they could be hung on a coat hanger. I then made a box from Wisteria Wonder card and used some acetate which I folded around the box.

I thought that it made a change from submitting a card.
Everywhere seems to have some snow except Southampton. We got a light dusting last night but it had disappeared by this morning. I bought some new wellies with bright flowers on them last week in anticipation of going for a long walk in the snow but haven't been able to put them on yet.

Valley Park Crop

Aly and I recently held our first Stampin Up event at Valley Park Community Centre. It was attended by 20 ladies and we all had a good day. In the morning I demonstrated a scrapbooking page and a card , followed by lunch and then in the afternoon Aly demonstrated a 3D project and a card. The theme for the day was Winter memories and the colour scheme was blue and white. The ladies all brought their own winter photos for the scrapbooking page and we were really pleased with the positive feedback that the ladies gave us. The next event is booked for the 10th March and we are almost full for that with only one space currently remaining. Below are some of the photos from the day and the projects that I demonstrated.

Engagement card

Hi Ladies

My daughter Rachele asked me if I would make an engagement card for a friend of hers. I thought that I would combine that with a blog challenge that I have not entered before. The ladies at Clean and Simple Stamping which is a fortnightly challenge have set a sketch :

This is a challenge which I have really enjoyed because I love paper piercing , you can get some really nice effects with it . This is what I produced.

The sketch is really nice and I can see myself using it again and again, there are so more ways that you could use it.
Materials used:
Cardstock: RegalRose, Whisper White
Stampsets : I { Heart} Hearts, So  Happy for you
Stamp pad: Perfect Plum
Tools: Stamp- a - majig, paper piercing tool,  bard
