I have just visited the Make my Monday Challenge site to find out what the challenge is this week to discover that I can in the top three for last weeks entry with this card:
This weeks challenge is for cards which have yellow, bright green and fuscia in them. The challenge lasts for over a month as they are having a well earned rest in August which is good as I am going to visit my daughter in Nottingham for a few days - we are going shopping for a wedding dress! So on my return I will think of something to enter for this challenge. it really spurs you on when you come in the top three!
Over at the Make my Monday Challenge they have a colour wheel challenge. This is the 4th week that theyhave requested challenges with different colour combinations. This week it is the turn of analogous colours and want cards with different colour blues.
I was sorting out my craft room and found a card that I produced ages ago but didn't blog at the time and then I also decided to produce a new card using the lovely Apothecary Stamps and framelits that go with that stampset.
Here is what I produced:
A combination of Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze and Marina Mist cardstock and inkpads have been used. They are such lovely colours.
Hope that you are enjoying the lovely weather and long may it continue

I definitely think that July is one of the best months of the year to become a demo. Here is why..........
If you join in July your first quarterly minimum does not need to be met till the end of December 2012.
That means you get your starter kit and £130 worth of any goods of your choice to play with over the summer.
Mid-August you get to pre-order lots of new items from the new seasonal catalogue at 30% discount.
1st September you can sell these products to your customers along with offering them the Items from the Last Chance/Retired Lists.
You can then pre-order from the new main catalogue which is then released on 1st October.
Whilst having one of the best and busiest times of the year to grow your business and capiltalise on all the lovely new products coming our way....
Yesterday Aly and I held another event in Valley Park Community Centre. We were joined by 13 lovely ladies and we had good fun making 2 different projects. The first project was demonstrated by Aly which was a cute little box using the Framelits to make a little bag which held some little notelets.
Both the bag and the notelets were stamped with stamps from the Apothecary Art stampset. This is one of the examples that one of the ladies made. The bag was made from the papers from the Attic Boutique set whch have some really lovely papers in them. It will be a shame when they disappear from the Summer Mini catalogue. The Summer mini ends at the end of August so if you would like to order the paper before then please email me on: email@example.com
Sam and Ali working on their boxes
When the ladies had finished making their boxes we all had lunch.
This gave them enough energy to complete the scrapbooking page which I demonstrated o the theme of summer - it was actually a summery day so hopefully it will now stay with us until September at least.
This was a page that we completed at training in April at Reading and as it used all the lovely papers from the Twitterpated range I decided to reuse it.The background was stamped with one of the stamps from the Mixed Bunch set which is also from the summer mini catalogue. All the materials to do both projects were supplied to the ladies .
Susan and Claire getting stuck in , as you can see we have a digital scrapbooker who has joined us for most of our sessions.
The dates for the sessions for the remainder of this year are as follows:
Saturday 22nd September
Saturday 27th October
Saturday 1st December.
Our October session will be a stamp-a-stack session where you can come along and make a start on your Christmas cards. You will make 12 cards and a 3D Christmas project. A usual all materials , lunch and beverages will be included. Please get in contact if you would like to reserve a place on any of the sessions.
Last Sunday Aly and I travelled down to Wimborne to take part in a training day run by Jo Dumbleton. We had great day and did a scrapbooking page, a box and 3 cards using the Stamping Wheels. We received lots of swaps and I took part in the competition which was titled Summer.
Here is what I made for the competition:
Although I did not win the competition it was fun to make and think I will find a home for it on my desk at work.
This is the box that we made in the afternoon:
This box was so easy to make and could be adapted for lots of different sizes and different embellishments. I can see me making lots more.
Tomorrow Aly and I will be holding another crop when I will be demonstrating a scrapbooking page on a summery theme and Aly is making some cards and a folder to put them in.
Please come back early next week when I will post photos of the event and the projects that we did.
The Challenge this week on Less is More is a one layer card with three of anything, that could be three colours, three images, three stamps, three words, the number three. I do find one layer cards quite difficult as the whole focus is on the design and it's simplicity. I decided to use one of my favourite stamps from the current SU catalogue - Simply Soft, this is one of the hostess sets so it will be disappearing within the next few months which is a shame because it is such a beautiful stamp. Here is what I produced:
I divided the card up into sections by scoring boxes across the card. I then masked off each one in turn and sponged Pool Party over each square before stamping it in Pacific Point. The sentiment was stamped in Pacific Point using the Apothecary Art stampset which is from the summer mini catalogue. The scoring of the card is quite subtle and difficult to photograph effectively so here is a close up:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla
Stampsets: Simply Soft, Apothecary Art
Ink pads: Pool Party, Pacific Point
Tools: Simply Scoreboard, dauber.
I haven't blogged for a while and I haven't been able to enter any challenges as I have been so busy at work. I have got this week off so thought that I would enter a few challenges this week. This week over at Simply Stampin they have a colour combo challenge:
I haven't got Rose Red so I have used Regal Rose instead. This is what I have produced:
I have used the stamp set French Foliage which is a lovely stamp set and is available to purchase from the current catalogue.
Cardstock: Crum Cake, Very Vanilla.
DSP: Attic Boutique
Stamp pads: Regal Rose, Soft Suede
Tools: Punch - Eyelet Border, Linen thread.
If you would like to make this card the materials can be ordered from me, please contact me on :firstname.lastname@example.org
