Less is More Challenge

Hi All,

Hope you are all well. It's a bit breezy on the South Coast today and not very warm. I was hoping to get out and do some gardening but think I will stay in my craft room.

Today I am sharing with you my entry for this weeks challenge at Less is More (http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/week-171-one-layer-challenge.html ) where the challenge is to make a one layer Thank you card. I do find one layer cards quite difficult but then that's the good part of doing this challenges. They make you think a bit more and go outside of your comfort zone. This is what I have produced :

It's a small notelet which I first embossed using the embossing folder Designer Frames from Stampin Up which I then masked before using two marker pens and using the Simply Sketched stampset to stamp the poppy inside the frame. I the used the watercolour brush to fill in the flower before using the sentiment from the same set. I am quite pleased with it and I think I will make some more for my customers.

I have wanted to make a video for a while and was given a video camera as a Christmas present so I am going to try this afternoon to produce a short video demonstrating a technique. Hopefully you will be able to see this tomorrow if all goes well.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend

Until next time

  1. I don't think you need to be afraid of one layer cards Margaret this one is stunning. Love how you've added the embossed border to your stamped image which is then coloured beautifully.
Well done and thanks for taking part.

  2. This is a lovely card - like you I find the OLC quite hard. Margaret

  3. You have made a beautiful card Margaret. I also find OLC quite a challenge, many of my attempts are already ended up in the paperbin.

  4. Such a pretty card Margaret, love it.
